Creationism is wrong. It is incredibly wrong. It is one of the most ignorant, uneducated, wrongest wrong that you can be wrong about.
And you may think I’m being closed minded or mean. No, I’m actually just stating facts. There is nothing whatsoever correct about creationism. Nothing. There is no debate. It’s not a matter of belief. It’s simply a matter of looking at the mountains of overwhelming evidence for evolution and looking at the pure non-science and opinions of creationism and saying that you accept the vast, vast, vast preponderance of evidence.
And it’s absolutely true that you can believe what you want to believe. You have the right to be horribly wrong. But I really think it sucks if you insist that your children should be taught to be horribly wrong too.
“Neil Armstrong (1930-2012) was not entirely human. He was the spiritual repository of our spacefaring dreams & ambitions. In death, a little bit of us all dies with him. Farewell my friend. And now, perhaps more than ever, I bid you godspeed.”—Neil deGrasse Tyson (via scinerds)
“For those who may ask what they can do to honor Neil, we have a simple request. Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink.”—Statement from the family of Neil Armstrong, full statement here (via jtotheizzoe)
